Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks a Business Development Engineer for the US Air Force to bridge RF capabilities with Air Force customer needs and emerging trends.

Reporting to the Director of Applications Engineering, you will work with Engineering and BD teams to demonstrate the StreamCaster MANET radios across airborne, surface, expeditionary bases, and uncrewed environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of experience OR HS diploma with 5+ years in related tech/defense roles.
• Exposure to Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing, or tactical communication systems.
• Familiar with RF test equipment like spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.
• U.S. citizenship due to clients under U.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Linux environments, or scripting (Python, C++) for test automation.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team.
• Outdoor field-trial environments exposure.

Responsibilities

• Support field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering to leverage testing and benchmarking data.
• Maintain alignment with BD to support technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting demos for airborne and expeditionary networks.
• Perform market research to identify integrations with industry partners and test end-to-end architectures.
• Engage with Air Force program offices and labs for technical collaboration.
• Gather field feedback and translate into product roadmap inputs; track progress.
• Travel 50%; frequent travel to customer sites, labs, and field-testing environments.
