Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Business Development Engineer to bridge RF capabilities with US Air Force customer requirements. You will work with engineering and BD teams to demonstrate the StreamCaster radio portfolio across airborne, surface, and expeditionary environments.

Roles involve field trials, demonstrations, and market research, with up to 50% travel and a remote option depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Network Engineering or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of relevant experience, or HS diploma with 5+ years in defense tech.
• Exposure to Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment like spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Ability to obtain Government SECRET clearance within 15 months of hire.
• US citizenship required for some roles with government clients.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking, Linux environments, or scripting (Python, C++) for test automation.

Responsibilities

• Support technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-air execution of field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering to leverage testing data and verify proposed architectures.
• Maintain close alignment with the Business Development team to support technical needs and align work with strategic priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations for airborne, tactical edge, and expeditionary network needs.
• Perform market research to identify potential integrations with industry partners and end-to-end network architectures.
• Assist Business Development in engaging with Air Force program offices and labs.
• Gather field feedback to translate requirements into product roadmap inputs.
• Travel up to 50% for field tests, meetings, and demonstrations.
