Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Bridge Inspection, Structural Engineer to join the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in the New England region, with offices in Boston, MA and nearby areas. The role blends field inspections with office work to develop feasibility, load ratings, and design sketches using AutoCAD.

The ideal candidate holds a Structural or Civil Engineering degree, 3–5 years of related experience, and an Engineer in Training certification or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in bridge, tunnel or ancillary inspection or design or other infrastructure related work.
• Engineer in Training Certification (ETC) or similar.
• Physically capable of field work including working at heights, in adverse weather, and at night.
• 50% field work and 50% office work.
• Valid Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record check required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, MS Office, and related software.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection projects.
• Contribute as a team member on bridge, tunnel and related inspections.
• Assist in preparing load ratings and preliminary design calculations.
• Develop plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Support cross-functional project work and documentation.
