Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Bridge Inspection, Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in New England, including offices in Boston, MA and Worcester, MA. The role combines field inspections with office activities to support projects across the region.

You will assist in preparing load ratings, drafting plans with AutoCAD, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver quality engineering outcomes while adhering to safety and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
• 1–3 years of experience in bridge, tunnel, or infrastructure work.
• Interest in structures and transportation with a desire to advance in WSP's projects.
• Capable of rigorous field work, heights, adverse weather, and night work.
• Role may be 50% field and 50% office work.
• Valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Work with Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection projects.
• Contribute as a team member on bridge, tunnel, and ancillary inspections.
• Assist in developing Bridge & Tunnel load ratings.
• Assist with plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work.
• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Bridge and Transportation Engineering.
• Assist in project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Help prepare cost proposals and scope of work documents.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
