Job summary

WSP is seeking a Bridge Inspection, Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in New England, with offices in Boston and Worcester. You will work on inspection projects for bridges, tunnels and related infrastructure, combining fieldwork with office design support.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Structural or Civil Engineering, 3–5 years of inspection or design experience, and an Engineer in Training certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of bridge, tunnel or related inspection/design experience; EIT
• Demonstrated interest in structures/transportation and growth in WSP projects.
• Capable of field work including heights, night work, and adverse weather.
• 50% field and 50% office work potential.
• Valid Driver’s License and MVRC check required.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection-related projects.
• Contribute as a team member on bridge, tunnel and ancillary inspections.
• Assist in the preparation of bridge and tunnel load ratings.
• Assist with development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project execution.
• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Bridge and Transportation Engineering.
• Assist with project research, fieldwork, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of cost proposals and scope of work documents.
• Maintain project documentation.
