Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Bridge Inspection, Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team serving New England. The role blends field inspections with office tasks across Boston, Worcester, Glastonbury, and Providence.

You’ll assist in load ratings, AutoCAD plans, and cross-functional project work, with travel as needed. Ideal candidates have a structural/civil background, EIT certification, and a passion for transportation engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Engineer in Training Certification (EIT) required or in progress.
• Interest in structures/transportation and advancing skills related to WSP’s projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on various inspection projects.
• Collaborate on Bridge, Tunnel & Ancillary Inspections as a team member.
• Assist in preparation of Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
• Assist with development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work.
• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Bridge and Transportation Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of cost proposals and scope of work documents.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assignment specific tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
