Job summary

Brex is seeking a Manager, Banking Operations in NYC. Join a hybrid environment with in-office three days a week (Mon, Wed, Thu) and up to four weeks remote per year. Lead a high-performing team overseeing money movement, monitoring, and controls to ensure fast, compliant operations.

The role emphasizes coaching analysts, shaping processes, and partnering across product, engineering, compliance, and external partners to scale operations with accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in US banking operations or related function within a bank, fintech, or other regulated financial services environment.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Working knowledge of high-risk money movement workflows and payment rails such as wires, ACH, checks, SWIFT, or similar transaction monitoring environments.
• Practical fluency with AI tools (Claude, Hex, Granola, Glean) with ability to apply AI to improve team effectiveness.
• Strong judgment with risk assessment and audit-ready documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Banking Operations analysts by setting priorities, coaching performance, and building a high-accountability culture grounded in sound judgment and documentation standards.
• Oversee payment monitoring across Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, checks, and stablecoins with timely reviews and risk-based decisions.
• Build scalable operating frameworks for onboarding, QA, escalation management, and coverage planning as the team grows.
• Advance Brex’s AI-native goals by identifying high-impact use cases and partnering on AI adoption across tools and workflows.
• Partner with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, Treasury, Finance, and external banking partners to strengthen controls and support new workflows.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying root causes and automating workflows to increase throughput without compromising control quality.
• Translate frontline insights into clear reporting and leadership updates, surfacing risks and process gaps.
