Job summary

Brex in New York City is hiring a Manager, Banking Operations to lead a team responsible for money movement, monitoring across Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, checks, and stablecoins, and to build scalable controls and processes.

You will partner with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering and external banking partners, drive AI-enabled improvements, and mentor analysts to deliver accurate, timely decisions in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in US banking/payments operations or related regulated environment.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Experience with high-risk money movement workflows and payment rails (Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, checks, etc.).
• Fluency with AI tools and practical vision for AI adoption in operations.
• Strong judgment with documentation for audits and escalations.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, Treasury/Finance.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to translate complexity into guidance and updates.
• Builder mindset with data/automation to scale quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Banking Operations team by setting priorities, coaching performance, and maintaining accountability.
• Oversee payment monitoring across rails (Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, checks, stablecoins) with timely reviews and risk-based decisions.
• Build scalable operating frameworks for onboarding, QA, escalation, and coverage planning.
• Advance Brex’s AI-native goals by identifying use cases and driving AI adoption across the team.
• Partner with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering and external banking partners to strengthen controls and support new workflows.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying root causes, refining procedures, and increasing throughput without sacrificing control.
• Translate frontline insights into reporting and leadership updates, surfacing trends and risks.
