Job summary
C&W Services is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the site maintenance team in enhancing the performance of material handling equipment control systems. The role involves troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining PLC/PC controllers, HMI, and Rockwell Rockwell software, across conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, and related hardware.
The engineer will partner with operations to drive reliability and efficiency, lead or assist technicians, and operate in a climate-controlled
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience programming/commissioning HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs
- Experience with SCADA systems and KPIs
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems
- Knowledge of motor control and electrical distribution systems
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following safety procedures
- Provide guidance on maintaining material handling control systems and electrical distribution
- Troubleshoot and modify software projects for material handling control systems (PLC/PC, Rockwell PLCs)
- Escalate downtime issues to vendors or network teams as needed
- Collaborate with operations leadership to plan and install new technology
- Communicate timelines and impacts to operations and maintenance teams
