Job summary
CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to join its Global Workplace Solutions team. You’ll work on advanced material handling systems, PLCs, and SCADA, ensuring reliability and safe operations for a major client.
You will troubleshoot, program, and maintain automated equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, and robotics, collaborating with site teams and contractors to enhance performance and uptime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years PLC programming experience.
- 2+ years robotics system experience.
- 2+ years SCADA experience.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment and comply with applicable codes and directives.
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC/PC control software for material handling.
- Serve as first-level escalation for on-site and remote troubleshooting.
- Inspect systems to ensure operation meets client requirements.
- Oversee development scope and scheduling with outside contractors.
- Engineer reliability improvements from concept to implementation.
- Monitor industrial networks and control systems.
- Communicate with stakeholders on timelines and impacts.
- Analyze failures and propose improvements.
- Maintain equipment reliability through controls assessments.
- Foster relationships with the client and operations teams.
- Perform other duties as needed.
