Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our controls and maintenance team serving a major client. Safety, reliability, and continuous improvement of material handling equipment are at the core of this role.

You will troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers (Allen Bradley Controllogix/Compactlogix) and RSLogix 5000, provide on-site and remote support, and collaborate with site teams to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

Qualifications

Experience troubleshooting and modifying software for material handling control systems.
Familiar with PLC/PC controllers and Allen-Bradley platforms.
Ability to provide on-site and remote troubleshooting support.

Responsibilities

Promote a safe working environment by complying with codes and company directives.
Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
Act as first level escalation for on-site and remote troubleshooting of MHE controls.
Inspect systems to ensure operation meets design specifications.
Oversee development scope, scheduling, and inspection of work by contractors.
Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to implementation.
Monitor industrial networks and equipment performance to resolve defects.
Communicate with leadership and maintenance teams on timelines and impacts.
Analyze failures and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence.
Perform controls assessments to maintain and improve reliability.
