Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our Global Workplace Solutions team.

The role focuses on controls and maintenance for automated material handling equipment, including PLC-based systems and SCADA. You will troubleshoot software, monitor networked control systems, and coordinate with site teams and contractors to ensure reliability and performance of conveyors, sorters, scanners, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with material handling control systems and MHE equipment.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with electrical distribution and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLCs).
• Provide first-level escalation support on-site and remotely.
• Monitor networks such as Ethernet, DeviceNet, Profibus and similar.
• Oversee development scope and coordination with contractors for upgrades.
• Communicate status, timelines and impacts to stakeholders.
• Perform system assessments to improve reliability and performance.
