Groundswell is seeking an engineer to take vague business needs and turn them into working software. This hands-on, client-facing role will evolve from delivery to defining solutions, working with stakeholders to refine requirements and craft effective AI-enabled applications.

You will build production-grade features, integrate prompts, retrieval, APIs, and data handling, while communicating clearly with customers and team members.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building AI-enabled apps and services.
• Experience with LLMs, prompts, and retrieval-augmented workflows.
• Experience integrating APIs and handling data for user-facing features.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication for client-facing work.

Responsibilities

• Take a defined technical approach and build it into production‑quality functionality.
• Participate in requirements discussions with business stakeholders to understand workflow and outcomes.
• Contribute design ideas to simplify solutions and reduce AI scope where possible.
• Build apps that integrate AI capabilities with prompts, data handling, APIs, and UI.
• Create evaluation sets, measure results, and report findings clearly.
• Investigate failures and implement fixes with root-cause focus.
• Support client demonstrations and proof‑of‑concepts for business challenges.
• Document work with logs, traceability, and validation methods.
