Groundswell is seeking an engineer who can translate loosely defined business needs into working software with a hands-on, client-facing approach. You will work directly with business stakeholders to refine requirements and design the solution, then build and deliver the results across client delivery, internal product work, and rapid proofs of concept.

The role spans production functionality, AI integration, prompt design, retrieval, API usage, data handling, and user-facing features.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building applications that integrate large language models and AI capabilities.
• Ability to discuss requirements with non-technical stakeholders and propose viable approaches.
• Experience delivering client-facing software and internal AI-enabled products.

Responsibilities

• Take defined technical approaches and convert them into production‑quality features.
• Participate in requirements discussions with business stakeholders to understand workflow and outcomes.
• Contribute to solution design and consider simpler alternatives when appropriate.
• Build AI-enabled applications with prompts, retrieval, APIs, data handling and user-facing components.
• Create evaluation sets, measure results and report findings honestly, including inconclusive outcomes.
• Investigate failures and implement fixes to improve results.
• Support client demonstrations and proofs-of-concept for AI applications.
• Seek feedback and continuously align with client needs and AI best practices.
• Document work with logging, traceability, and validation methods.
