Job summary

HMSHost at Grand Rapids Airport is seeking a Cook G to prepare cooked foods across Fry, Flat Top, Pantry, and eggs. You will follow recipes, maintain food quality, and communicate issues to the manager while delivering excellent service to customers and teammates.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of cooking experience in high-volume casual dining, knowledge of HACCP, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. This is a non-exempt/full-time position with benefits described in the posting.

Qualifications

• Requires food preparation skills and HACCP knowledge.
• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in high-volume casual dining.
• Food knowledge for soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and communicate with team.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to bend, twist, and stand for normal job functions.
• Frequent hand immersion and work with knives and hot plates.
• Work in a hot environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and prepare items per directions.
• Estimate needs and requisition supplies.
• Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.
• Practice HACCP and food safety standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment and measure ingredients.
• Stock, date, rotate, and check product temperatures.
