Job summary

Motorola Solutions’ Silvus Technologies unit seeks a Business Development Engineer for the US Air Force to bridge RF capabilities with stakeholder requirements. You’ll support field tests, demonstrations, and end-to-end networks across airborne and expeditionary environments.

Up to 50% travel with a remote option depending on location. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in systems engineering or defense tech, with SDRs, IP routing, and scripting familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to SDRs, IP-based routing, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to leverage testing and benchmarking data to verify solution architectures.
• Maintain alignment with the Business Development team to support technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations for airborne, edge, and base networking needs.
• Perform market research to identify potential integrations with industry partners and test end-to-end network architectures.
