Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead in Katy, TX to manage a licensed school-age program, ensure safety, and engage families daily. The role focuses on leadership, curriculum implementation, and compliance with state licensing, while building strong relationships with staff and school partners.

You will oversee operations for before/after school programs serving Katy ISD and surrounding districts, coordinating activities, supervising staff, and ensuring a high-quality,

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age and eligible to work
• High school diploma or GED with 70 clock hours of relevant training
• Experience with youth in licensed childcare or similar setting preferred
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Keep Children Safe by maintaining a physically and emotionally safe environment and proper supervision.
• Site Management as Texas licensing Site Director and oversee daily operations of the afterschool program.
• Supervision and Safety: ensure safety and security of children and staff; maintain records.
• Behavior Management: apply positive behavior strategies and address issues constructively.
• Program & Policy Compliance: ensure licensing compliance, postings, health and safety standards.
• Program Planning and Implementation: oversee activities aligned with YMCA curriculum and adapt as needed.
• Parent and Community Engagement: communicate with families and partners professionally.
• Administrative Duties: manage enrollment and attendance records.
• Program Growth and Retention: promote enrollment and retention strategies.
• Program Quality: ensure curriculum delivery meets program standards.
• Program Evaluation: monitor participation and adjust programs as needed.
• Child Abuse Prevention: report concerns; follow mandated reporting rules.
