Job summary

LACOE Expanded in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Full-Time Program Coordinator for the After-School All-Stars LA site. The role leads a safe, dynamic after-school program, drives attendance, and develops creative strategies to engage youth.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with schools and community partners, managing program operations, and ensuring health, safety, and compliance across activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles in afterschool, day camp, or youth organizations.
• Ability to collaborate with School District staff, officials, parents, and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for expanded learning programming.
• Ability to develop programs for diverse learning styles and interests.
• Experience in ethnically and culturally diverse communities is desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication within a team.
• Respond to emergencies using ASAS-LA protocols.
• Excellent organizational and managerial skills and leadership ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have valid transportation and pass required screenings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and volunteers and provide professional development opportunities.
• Discipline support and maintain a positive atmosphere.
• Embed ASAS-LA Mission and Vision into daily practices at each site.
• Maintain safe, engaging environments for students.
• Guide participants with inclusive, supportive leadership.
• Oversee day-to-day programming and report emergencies or conflicts to supervision.
• Act as liaison between ASAS-LA and school sites to strengthen partnerships.
• Implement ASAS-LA initiatives through observations and trainings.
• Collaborate with school-day activities related to afterschool programs.
• Coordinate surveys and program evaluations with parents, staff, and students.
• Maintain communications through weekly on-site meetings and quarterly assessments.
• Plan throughout the year with session planning, calendaring, and events.
• Coordinate staff scheduling and bi-weekly payroll approvals.
• Submit requests, manage supplies, and ensure storage and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and train staff accordingly.
• Conduct safety training and drills and document incidents.
• Register students in CitySpan and monitor ADA and attendance.
• Maintain regular communications with community stakeholders.
• Attend management and site meetings and travel to trainings/events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
