Job summary

LACOE Expanded is seeking a Part-Time Program Leader in Los Angeles, CA to assist in leading after-school enrichment programs for youth in a school setting. You will help plan activities, supervise students, and coordinate with school staff to ensure a safe, engaging environment.

Under ASAS-LA supervision, you will maintain a 20:1 ratio, manage supplies, and support field trips and snacks while partnering with families and community leaders to raise program visibility.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in K-12 in after-school settings.
• Ability to work cooperatively with school staff, parents and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after school programs.
• Effective communication and sensitivity; respond to incidents quickly.
• Must be 18+ and have HS diploma or GED; some college or degree preferred.
• Criminal background clearance (fingerprinting) required.
• TB clearance required.
• Physical ability to lead activities.
• Fluency in a language other than English is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementation of the daily after-school program.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Build relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff to increase program visibility.
• Monitor attendance data and program progress per QA process.
• Prepare supplies and materials; manage inventory.
• Facilitate engaging learning experiences.
• Supervise students during activities to ensure safety.
• Communicate with staff and guardians about activities and events.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development.
• Assist with field trips and events as needed.
• Distribute and track supper/snack per school protocol.
• Maintain program spaces and report hazards.
