Job summary

LACOE Expanded is seeking a part-time Program Leader in Los Angeles to guide after-school activities and ensure youth safety and engagement. You will collaborate with the Program Coordinator and school staff to deliver enriching, standards-aligned experiences in a school setting.

The ideal candidate supports a diverse student population, communicates effectively with families, and can adapt to evening and weekend schedules as required by the school calendar.

Qualifications

• Experience with K-12 students in recreational/educational settings.
• Ability to work cooperatively with school staff, parents and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after-school programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to incidents with sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Build relationships with youth, guardians and staff to raise program visibility.
• Track attendance data and program progress for quality improvement.
• Prepare supplies and create engaging academic, cultural and recreational activities.
• Supervise students to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Travel to field trips and support off-site meetings as needed.
