Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks an Absence Advocate to lead absence and accommodations cases across the U.S. and Canada, partnering with TPAs, HR teams, and stakeholders. The role covers FMLA, ADA, PWFA, workers’ compensation, and related benefit transitions, ensuring timely, compliant case management.

The role supports 100+ active cases, requires strong communication, data analysis, and a customer-first approach, with travel up to 15% and remote work options outside Atlanta.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, healthcare admin, business management, or related discipline.
• 2 years of related experience in absence management or accommodations.
• Proficiency in managing FMLA, ADA, PWFA programs and related processes.
• Strong knowledge of leave and accommodation programs and ERISA guidelines.
• Experience with HRIS and leave/case management systems (Workday, AbsenceTracker, Service Station, UKG, Kronos).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex processes clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support approximately 100 active leave and accommodation cases concurrently within SLAs.
• Triaging and resolving absence, accommodation, and workers' compensation cases with stakeholders.
• Support US and Canada employee populations with jurisdictional requirements.
• Coordinate with TPAs and monitor case progress and next steps.
• Escalate complex or high-risk cases to business partners while maintaining a consistent employee experience.
• Address inquiries from Employee Service Center and coordinate follow-up actions.
• Monitor FMLA lifecycle and liaison with employees, leaders, and TPAs to resolve gaps.
• Handle phone, chat, and email communications per service levels; de-escalate when needed.
• Coordinate ADA accommodations via interactive process and HR partnership.
• Coordinate PWFA accommodations for pregnancy-related conditions; minimize leave where possible.
• Administer and track administrative leaves per policy and payroll alignment.
• Manage DOT/FMCSA unpaid leave workflows and return-to-duty readiness with DOT teams.
• Oversee concurrent leave programs (FMLA, Workers’ Comp) and document handoffs with leadership.
• Coordinate RTW confirmations and transitions to other benefits.
