Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Absence Advocate to join the Absence & Accommodations team. This role supports FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and workers' compensation across North America, partnering with TPAs and HR Business Partners.

The hybrid Atlanta, GA location is preferred, with remote options for other Eastern/Central time zones. The role manages ~100 active cases, ensuring timely, compliant case progression and employee advocacy throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, healthcare administration, business management, or related discipline with 2 years of related experience; or master's with up to 2 years, or 6 years in a related field.
• Strong knowledge of self-funded and fully insured disability benefit programs and ERISA.
• Experience with FMLA, ADA, PWFA, Workers' Compensation, DOT/FMCSA administrative leave, and related benefits.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support approximately 100 active leave and accommodation cases concurrently.
• Guide triage, resolution, and outcome management for absence, accommodation, and workers' compensation cases.
• Support employee populations across the US and Canada with jurisdictional requirements.
• Coordinate with TPAs in a shared administration model and monitor activity across stakeholders.
• Escalate complex, risk-sensitive cases to HR Partners while maintaining a consistent employee experience.
• Handle escalated inquiries from the Employee Service Center and coordinate return-to-work activities.
