Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Services Development Manager to lead the design, development, and management of our Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments (both Online and On-Premise). You will be responsible for understanding business needs, architecting robust and scalable solutions across the Microsoft ecosystem, overseeing their development and implementation, and ensuring the effective governance and administration of our Microsoft services platform. Possess a strong technical background in SharePoint, M365, and related technologies, excellent leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and collaboration across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Solution Design and Development (Microsoft Services):
Requirement Gathering: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to thoroughly understand their needs and translate them into clear, comprehensive functional and technical requirements for Microsoft 365 applications and solutions, including SharePoint.
Solution Architecture: Design the end-to-end architecture of our Microsoft 365 environments, encompassing SharePoint Online and On-Premise, Teams, OneDrive, and other relevant services. This includes site structures, site collections, lists, libraries, workflows, forms, and custom applications, ensuring they effectively address business requirements and adhere to best practices.
Customization and Development: Lead and participate in the development and customization of Microsoft 365 solutions utilizing out-of-the-box functionalities, SharePoint Designer, the Microsoft Power Platform suite (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), and potentially custom code (e.g., JavaScript, .NET, SPFx) as needed.
Workflow Automation: Architect and implement automated workflows using SharePoint workflows and/or Power Automate to streamline and optimize critical business processes across M365 services.
Forms Development: Design and develop user-centric and efficient forms leveraging SharePoint lists, Microsoft Forms, and Power Apps to facilitate data collection and business processes.
Integration: Strategize and implement the seamless integration of Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Teams, OneDrive), enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, ERP), and relevant third-party tools through various integration methods and technologies.
Branding and User Interface: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the organization's branding guidelines within Microsoft 365, ensuring a consistent, intuitive, and user-friendly interface across all sites and applications.
Microsoft Services Environment Management and Administration:
Site Collection and Site Management: Take ownership of the creation, configuration, and ongoing management of SharePoint site collections, sites, and subsites, ensuring optimal organization and accessibility.
Permissions and Security: Define, implement, and meticulously manage Microsoft 365 security protocols, including user permissions, groups, and access controls, to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with security policies.
Content Management: Establish and enforce robust content management policies, guidelines, and best practices to maintain data integrity, consistency, and lifecycle management within SharePoint and related M365 services.
Feature Configuration: Expertly configure and manage the diverse range of Microsoft 365 features and functionalities to meet evolving business needs.
Monitoring and Maintenance: Proactively monitor the health, performance, and stability of the Microsoft 365 environment, perform regular maintenance tasks, and efficiently troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise.
Governance and Best Practices: Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive Microsoft 365 governance policies, standards, and best practices, including governance planning, information architecture, and metadata strategies, to ensure consistent and effective platform utilization.
Upgrades and Migrations: Strategically plan and execute Microsoft 365 environment upgrades and migrations (e.g., from on-premises to SharePoint Online, Exchange migrations), including migrations from legacy systems or older versions, utilizing relevant tools.
Collaboration and Support:
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with business users, IT teams, and management regarding Microsoft 365 solutions, project progress, and strategic initiatives
User Support and Training: Provide expert technical support to end-users, develop comprehensive user documentation, and conduct engaging training sessions to drive Microsoft 365 adoption and ensure effective platform usage.
Collaboration with IT Teams: Foster strong collaborative relationships with other IT teams (e.g., network, security, infrastructure) to guarantee the seamless operation and integration of the Microsoft 365 environment within the broader IT landscape.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Independently identify, thoroughly diagnose, and efficiently resolve complex technical issues related to Microsoft 365 applications and the underlying environment.
Leadership and Strategy:
Technical Leadership: Provide strong technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and development within the Microsoft services ecosystem.
Project Management: Effectively manage Microsoft 365-related projects, encompassing all phases from initial planning and execution to meticulous monitoring and successful closure.
Staying Updated: Proactively stay abreast of the latest advancements, updates, features, and best practices within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Strategic Input: Contribute valuable insights and recommendations to the organization's overarching digital workplace strategy, identifying opportunities to strategically leverage Microsoft 365 for enhanced efficiency and collaboration.
Innovation: Identify and champion opportunities to leverage new and emerging Microsoft 365 features and technologies to drive innovation, improve business processes, and enhance collaboration capabilities.
Architecture Leadership: Provide strong architectural leadership in the design and deployment of both SharePoint Online and On-Premise, and overall M365 environments, ensuring optimal scalability, robust security, and high performance.
Team Management: Manage a team of X members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8 years of demonstrable experience in designing, developing, and managing Microsoft 365 environments, including SharePoint (both Online and On-Premise).
Deep understanding of SharePoint architecture, infrastructure, and best practices, as well as broader M365 service knowledge.
Proven experience with SharePoint development and customization utilizing out-of-the-box features, SharePoint Designer, Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), and potentially custom code (e.g., JavaScript, .NET, SPFx).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and their integration (e.g., Teams, OneDrive, Exchange).
Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 security principles, user management, and permissions.
Experience in planning and executing Microsoft 365 migrations and upgrades using relevant tools.
Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with governance and compliance frameworks related to Microsoft 365.
Familiarity with current versions of Sharepoint, and M365 services.
