A leading company in the infrastructure sector is seeking an Electrical Engineer to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems at a Waste-to-Energy plant. The role requires a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, 5 years of industrial experience, and a proactive approach towards safety and operational efficiency. This is a 2-year contract position offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on process improvement.
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, including switchgears, transformers, MCCs, PLCs, and control panels.
Oversee power distribution systems and ensure uninterrupted power to critical plant operations.
Ensure compliance with safety and operational
procedures.
Maintain and calibrate instruments used for temperature, pressure, flow, and level monitoring.
Support DCS/PLC-based automation systems and work with automation specialists for system upgrades.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical equipment.
Diagnose faults and perform corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
Support in the design, planning, and implementation of electrical upgrades and plant improvement projects.
Evaluate and recommend electrical systems or equipment to improve reliability and efficiency.
Ensure all electrical work complies with local codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, modifications, and inspection reports.
Participate in hazard identification and risk assessments for electrical systems.
Support emergency troubleshooting and restore systems during outages or breakdowns.
Coordinate with mechanical, operations, and control teams for smooth plant operation.
Liaise with external vendors or contractors for specialized services.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as reasonably requested by immediate supervisor or the head of the department.
Job Requirements
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
5 years working experience in Industrial/Process Plant
Working knowledge of the principles and Electrical of plant equipment is essential
Meticulous with good interpersonal and communication skills
Have a safety mindset and participate actively in safety initiatives and events
Good team-player with high initiative
An interest in process or Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Plant maintenance. Must be able to get accustomed to WTE environment
Able to commit to emergency activation need beyond normal working hours.
This is a 2 years contract position.
