The role of General Manager / Vice President (Business Development) based in Andheri, Mumbai, reports to the Managing Director and involves leading global business development efforts for the pharmaceutical formulations division. The primary focus of this position is to drive growth through out-licensing and CDMO/CMO partnerships in regulated markets, including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.Key responsibilities of the ideal candidate encompass identifying market opportunities, managing product portfolios, negotiating strategic deals, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success and profitability. This role requires a proactive approach towards:- Identifying and finalizing licensing and CDMO/CMO agreements in regulated markets- Developing market-specific product strategies and portfolio plans- Conducting competitive analysis and assessing product ROI- Managing commercial proposals, conducting contract negotiations, and nurturing client relationships- Coordinating with R&D, regulatory, and project teams to ensure timely execution- Engaging with CROs, GLP labs, regulatory partners, and other external stakeholders- Representing the company at international industry events and conferences- Tracking market trends and recognizing growth opportunities, including M&A activities and in-licensing.The candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Life Sciences (mandatory), with an MBA being preferred. A minimum of 20 years of professional experience is required, with at least 10 years specifically in business development within regulated markets. Additionally, a strong background in formulation exports, licensing, CDMO/CMO, and regulatory comprehension is essential. The desired candidate should exhibit excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, coupled with commercial acumen and a solid analytical and financial orientation.
