The Youth Programme Coordinator supports the Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre’s (HYC) primary intervention wellness programme for underserved children. The Coordinator works closely with an experienced child psychologist and a team lead to coordinate the programme end to end. This includes ideating and curating activities, as well as executing weekly sessions with the team.
In addition, the Coordinator manages HYC’s internship programme for undergraduate psychology students, providing them with hands‑on experience in therapeutic work with children.
Job Responsibilities
Programme Curation and Facilitation
- Co‑curate, plan and execute HYC activities and programmes, including Kidz Hideout (KH) activities and sessions with the KH team to ensure alignment with KH’s psychosocial learning framework.
- Lead and manage weekly sessions, including overseeing the KH working team and ensuring high‑quality facilitation, safety, and engagement throughout each session.
Keen Hearts Internship Programme (KHIP) Management
- Co‑manage interns’ and KHIP graduates’ progress by jointly conducting Individual Reviews.
- Monitor internship project deliverables with the team lead and provide timely and accurate performance reports.
Operational and Administrative Management
- Provide administrative and logistical support for KH‑related activities.
- Liaise with Procurement and Finance executives on billing and financial matters.
- Proactively identify and implement solutions to enhance programme and operational workflow.
- Manage KH spaces and programme inventory, ensuring all materials, resources, and environments are organised, safe, and ready to support weekly sessions.
- Undertake additional roles and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in programme management, community engagement or any other relevant work.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to engage with children and youth effectively.
- Demonstrate emotional maturity and a genuine passion for working with children and youth to facilitate positive transformation in their lives.
- Maintain flexibility in work hours and demonstrate a willingness to work on weekends when required.
- Demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Showcase a level of creativity paired with excellent analytical capabilities.
- Possess keen attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Exhibit a collaborative spirit and contribute effectively within a team environment.
- Experience in working with children is preferred but not required.
