Job summary

A leading safety organization in Singapore is seeking a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) to manage risk assessments, safety audits, and compliance documentation. The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Occupational Safety and Health and at least 2 years of relevant experience in the construction sector. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. This role includes developing safety policies and emergency preparedness plans, contributing to a safer work environment.

Job Scope & Responsibilites:
  • Risk Management:Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments (RA), and recommend practical control measures to prevent accidents and ill health.
  • Policy and Program Development: Supporting the development of WSH policies and programs and implementing the WSH Management System (WSHMS) within the workplace.
  • Inspections & Audits:Perform regular site/workplace inspections, monitor compliance, and conduct internal audits on safety systems.
  • Incident Management:Investigate accidents and near misses, report findings, and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • < conduct safety briefings, training, and campaigns to raise safety awareness among workers and subcontractors.
  • Compliance & Documentation:Maintain WSH records, submit required reports (e.g., to MOM, NEA), and ensure adherence to legal requirements and company policies.
  • System Implementation:Implement and maintain the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System (EHSMS).
  • Liaison and Collaboration: Working closely with management,employees, contractors and relevant authorities to ensure all safety, health and environmental matters are addressed and all parties comply with the governing law.
  • Emergency Preparedness:Develop emergency plans andconduct drills, including firefighting exercises if required.
Job Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health,Environmental Science, or related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a WSHO and ECO in the Construction sector.
  • Registered Workplace Safety and HealthOfficer (WSHO) with MOM.
  • Strong understanding of WSH and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software tools.
