Key Responsibilities
Receiving and Processing Shipments
- Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Inspect shipments for damages or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Organize and properly store received inventory in designated locations within the warehouse.
Order Picking and Packing
- Pick items from inventory based on order requirements using handheld scanners or picking lists.
- Pack items securely for shipment, ensuring proper packaging materials and labelling are used.
- Prepare orders for shipping, including generating shipping labels and coordinating with carriers for pickup.
Inventory Management
- Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and locations using inventory management software or manual logs.
- Monitor inventory levels of essential items and communicate reorder needs to the warehouse supervisor.
Warehouse Organization and Cleanliness
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Arrange inventory and shelving systems for efficient storage and accessibility.
- Dispose of packaging materials and other waste in accordance with company guidelines.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on warehouse equipment and report any malfunctions or issues to maintenance staff.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Participate in training sessions related to safety protocols and warehouse procedures.
