Business Function

Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. To manage risk effectively and run a successful business, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement country risk management policies and strategies, adhering to the Group Credit Risk Management Policy
  • Drive, ideate and execute methodology, data, system and process enhancements for country risk exposure monitoring and reporting
  • Manage, prioritize, monitor and resolve/escalate issues related to book of works
  • Participate in risk scenario planning and stress testing exercises for proactive risk management and assessment
  • Monitor country risk exposures and take proactive steps to mitigate risks, including setting control thresholds
  • Collaborate with business units, risk management teams, and other stakeholders on country risk-related matters
  • Produce and coordinate country risk submissions to senior management, risk committees and regulators
  • Monitor and resolve all regulatory, audit and compliance validation related issues
Requirements
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience preferably in a similar or related role in a financial institution
  • Degree in economics, finance, business, statistics or related field
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data
  • Familiarity with macroeconomics, financial markets, and geopolitical risks
  • Knowledge of credit products, risk management principles and practices
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Balanced perspective on risk and business
  • Independent worker with a strong risk mindset, positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility
  • Effective team player with track record of partnering with business units and support units
