A maritime management company based in Singapore seeks a Safety Leader to oversee marine equipment operations and maintain high safety standards on vessels. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Chief Engineer, particularly on AHTS and DSV vessels, along with a Master Mariner qualification. The role involves ensuring operational efficiency through maintenance and supervision of ship repairs, and requires solid knowledge of vessel machinery and budgeting. Safety leader
Operate and maintain the ship marine equipment in a safe, economic, and efficient way in accordance with customer contract / Charter Party, within approved budgets, to the satisfaction of both owners and their clients.
On shore contact point for the Vessels in the day-to-day operation related to technical management and mobilization activities. Contact with Owner in the day-to-day operation, as defined and agreed with the Technical Manager.
Work independently with minimal supervision
Ensure that Statutory and Classification surveys for all plant and equipment on the vessels are carried out.
Ensure preventive- and corrective maintenance is carried out to prevent technical / operational nonconformities that may lead to downtime.
Contribute with continued improvement of the PMS maintenance system by providing proactive feedback to the Fleet Manager and Technical Manager.
Monitor and follow- Take immediate actions to adjust
and improve performance in case of non-conformities or when deviations are observed / reported. Follow-up and ensure corrective actions are implemented in case of technical related incidents and non-conformities.
Analyse breakdown and technical incidents and suggest experience transfers to the fleet.
Report vessel technical status on weekly basis to the Technical Manager.
Responsible for the planning, coordination and supervision of ship repair and dry-docking of vessels, in cooperation with other stakeholders
If any major breakdown occurs, make sure to arrange repairs, provide spares and service engineers.
Supervise the repair work as needed to ensure safe work, best quality, and cost-effective process. If insurance is involved, contact, inform and follow up until settlement in coordination with Fleet Manager and Technical Manager.
Take the lead to carry out Vessel Condition Assessments
Participate in appraisals and selection of key personnel onboard the vessel.
Comply with the requirements in STRATO SEEMS and report non-conformities.
Contributes actively to improve routines and solutions.
COC Class 1 (Master Mariner) holders with sailing experience on AHTS, DSV vessels
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Sea time as Chief Engineer on offshore vessel
Proven experience in budgeting and cost control
Sound knowledge in :
Able to travel at short notice
NO quota for work pass / permit
