Job summary

A leading engineering services company in Singapore is seeking an experienced technical advisor to support the Operations Manager. Responsibilities include providing technical advice to technicians, conducting quality checks on HVAC installations, and ensuring safety compliance and material efficiency. Ideal candidates should have a diploma in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC, along with 3–5 years of relevant experience. Strong communication and team leadership skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in HVAC, preferably with supervisory or technical advisory exposure.
• Certifications in safety (e.g., WSQ, OSHA) or HVAC systems may be preferred.
• Open to on-the-job training for MSO and compressor overhauls.

Responsibilities

• Support the Operations / Workshop Manager in day-to-day operational duties.
• Provide technical advice to Technicians on troubleshooting and installation.
• Conduct quality checks and implement QA/QC for RHVAC jobs.

Job Description

• To report directly to the Operations / Workshop Manager and to support them in the day-to-day operational duties.
• To provide technical advice to Technicians in the following areas:
  • Troubleshooting
  • Installation
  • Materials and tools
  • Raising MSO (proper training to be provided during reasonable transition period)
  • Compressor overhauling and D & I Reports (proper training to be provided during reasonable transition period)
• Technical advice to assisting Sales/Commercial pertaining to the Quotation.
• To conduct progress checking of quality of work and QA/QC for RHVAC related jobs, i.e. during assemble installation etc.
• To assist Operation Manager on any technical enquiries or issues for any specific or specialized projects as and when needed.
• To ensure safety is being implemented at all times within their sections when working in workshop, shipyard or offshore.
• To comply with quality of work requirements of OceanMaster at all times.
• To comply with protection of environment and health & safety policies of OceanMaster at all times.
• To adhere to no wastage policy of OceanMaster in terms of materials and labor to assigned jobs at all times.
• Any other assignment as directed by your reporting Manager or his duly authorized Officers.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in HVAC, preferably with supervisory or technical advisory exposure
• Certifications in safety (e.g., WSQ, OSHA) or HVAC systems may be preferred
• Good communication and team leadership skills
• Ability to multi-task and handle technical queriesOpen to on-the-job training (MSO, compressor overhauls, Dismantling & Inspection reports)
• Team player with positive attitude at work
• Able to work independently
