Job description

Meet The Job

• Become an internal advocate of the client and bring the voice of the customer into the rest of the Backbase organization.
• Collaborate closely with the Technical Support, Product Engineering, and Project Implementation teams at Backbase to ensure successful implementations of the Backbase product.
• Ensure technical quality and compliance with platform best practices across all squads, raising the bar for engineering practices and delivery standards.
• Act as the technical face of Backbase towards the client’s senior stakeholders, from engineering teams to CIO-level conversations.
• Serve as a role model by being hands-on when needed - unblocking technical issues, supporting squads, and ensuring progress.

How about you

• Overall experience of 10+ years and 5 years of management experience with solid technical background, including experience in software and systems architecture.
• You have led enterprise-grade software delivery, preferably in financial services or regulated industries.
• You have experience with most of our technology stack: Java, Spring, Maven, Gradle, Angular, Kotlin, Cloud Deployments, Docker, Kubernetes (on-prem, cloud) and Swift.
• Having a cloud certification (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus;
• You thrive in high-stakes environments, leading from the front during escalations and aligning cross-functional teams under pressure.
• You have a deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and SRE practices — and ensure operational excellence is part of delivery.
• You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, equally comfortable with engineering teams and CXOs.
• You are passionate about building strong engineering cultures, mentoring teams, and setting a high bar for engineering excellence.
• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• You are fluent in English.
