Purchasing consumables, personnel gear, safety-related equipment, ship spares and stocks, and other products in tandem with the superintendents.
In order to meet the scheduled shipping, it is your responsibility to source, assess, negotiate, and buy ship spare parts, stocks, and equipment from authorised local and international vendors.
Assess vendors according to the cost, calibre, timeliness, and precision of the purchased item;
P urchase order issuance following approval from the responsible department superintendent;
To inspect and learn about goods, services, costs, and HSSE culture, conduct vendor interviews and visit suppliers' manufacturing facilities and distribution hubs. ongoing search for new suppliers.
Determine fair prices by examining price suggestions, financial reports, and other data;
On behalf of the company, negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, contractors, and suppliers;
To review faulty or undesirable products or services and decide on corrective measures, staff and vendors should meet;
Examine and keep an eye on contracts to make sure suppliers and vendors abide by the terms and conditions stated therein and to see if any modifications are required;
Organise and go over purchase, cost, delivery, product performance, and inventory information;
Verify that the expenses are within the organization's budget;
Work with the supplier to ensure that the delivery window is met;
Arrange for the delivery of products to the office or vessel in coordination with the logistics business;
Once the items are delivered, follow up with the vessel to confirm the quantity and quality of the cargo;
Updating the server's approved vendor/supplier list once a month;
Make sure the superintendent in charge signs off on every request that the vessel submits;
Communicate with various departments about any equipment that needs to be serviced, and make the necessary arrangements to keep the vessel on schedule;
Coordinate with the logistics business in accordance with the essential agent for the store's delivery;
Creating the necessary organisation standard operating procedures;
Ad hoc tasks as needed, as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Marine, or Procurement, or certifications comparable
Two years of relevant work experience in a similar role are preferred, especially in the marine or bunkering industries.
