Job summary

A leading education company in Singapore is seeking an Accounting Tax professional to manage indirect tax compliance across the Asia Pacific. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation, along with 1-2 years of tax experience, particularly in GST/VAT. Responsibilities include data collation, filing, and collaborating with external tax advisors. Strong Excel and data management skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and work within deadlines.

Qualifications

About this role:

This Accounting, Tax position plays a critical role in the Tax function.

The position requires strong data management and Excel skills. Role and responsibilities include data extraction and data collation from our invoicing systems, verifying invoices and credit notes are in order, preparing data in Excel and collaborating with external tax advisors in various Asia Pacific countries to ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly or annual filing and payment of indirect tax returns across Asia Pacific. The role requires general technical knowledge of GST/VAT/ digital tax regulations in Asia Pacific and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.

How you will make an impact:
  • Manage indirect tax compliance(GST/VAT) across Asia Pacific including timely data collation, filing and arranging payment of indirect tax
  • Assist with indirect tax audits and inquiries
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors
  • Propose indirect tax compliance process improvement initiatives to improve tax efficiency
  • Assists with Indirect Tax Transformation projects
We are looking for people who have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxationor Polytechnic Diploma in Accounting or Taxation
  • 1 – 2 years of tax experience, technical skills/experience in Goods and Services Tax/Value-Added Tax preferred
  • Experience with tax software (such as OneSource) and accounting systemspreferred
  • Strong data management and Excel analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
