Job description
What you'll do:
  • Manage and monitor stock levels for excess, aged, and discontinued items by collaborating with demand planning, sales, and marketing teams to optimise inventory and meet key performance indicators.
  • Analyse forecasts for inventory requirements and develop robust processes for purchasing, calculating re-order quantities based on historical data, current stock status, and future needs to ensure target days forecast cover is achieved.
  • Prepare replenishment files for management review and secure approvals before executing actual replenishments to brand companies, maintaining optimum inventory levels for target service standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to guarantee timely inbound deliveries that align with outbound demand, implementing solutions such as expedited shipping or alternative freight options when necessary.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of inventory data to identify risks or opportunities, making recommendations to demand and sales planning teams for proactive action.
  • Place purchase orders efficiently while overseeing shipment arrivals using global tracking tools; visualise potential delays or risks and communicate mitigation strategies clearly across functions.
  • Liaise with brand companies to ensure all invoices and shipping documentation are processed accurately prior to shipment arrival, maintaining system integrity and preventing outstanding invoices before month-end closing.
  • Allocate inventory effectively during demand-supply matching exercises to promote business priorities and maintain high service levels across all channels.
  • Identify opportunities for service level improvements from a supply planning perspective by optimising lead times and increasing visibility throughout the supply chain.
  • Maintain master data by setting up new SKUs in relevant systems, updating land cost revisions, managing transfer pricing processes in close partnership with finance teams, and ensuring data accuracy at all times.
What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Supply Planner position brings proven experience in supply chain management within retail environments where supply planning and inventory optimisation are paramount. Your background includes hands‑on responsibility for managing stock levels across diverse channels while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams. You possess excellent communication skills that foster positive relationships between departments such as sales, marketing, finance, logistics, and demand planning. Your technical proficiency extends beyond advanced Excel usage into broader IT systems relevant to supply chain operations, enabling you to manage master data efficiently. Analytical acumen allows you not only to interpret complex forecasts but also recommend actionable solutions that drive business priorities forward. You thrive on accuracy when preparing monthly reports or conducting SKU rationalisation initiatives. A keen eye for detail helps you spot risks early while your critical thinking skills guide troubleshooting efforts during system failures or process bottlenecks. Above all else, your collaborative spirit ensures successful project delivery during digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving operational excellence.

  • At least three years of experience in supply chain management focused on supply planning and inventory management within a retail environment is essential for success in this role.
  • Your ability to stay organised while managing complex tasks ensures smooth operations even under pressure; meticulous attention to detail is crucial when handling large volumes of data.
  • Excellent analytical skills allow you to interpret forecasts accurately and develop effective processes for inventory purchases; your problem-solving abilities help identify root causes quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enable you to communicate clearly across functions, sales, marketing, demand planning, and influence outcomes collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in IT systems is required; advanced Excel skills are vital along with familiarity in stock management or MRP systems (experience with JDE is advantageous).
  • Critical thinking capabilities empower you to troubleshoot system failures through root cause analysis while continuously seeking improvement opportunities within supply chain processes.
  • Experience in master data management and understanding of transfer pricing maintenance processes are highly desirable.
  • Your commitment to accuracy ensures reliable inventory information at all times; you are dependable when it comes to monthly reporting (budget vs actual sales) and depletion/shipping forecasts.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with distribution/logistics teams during inbound shipment discrepancies or damage investigations demonstrates your collaborative approach.
  • Participation in digital transformation projects showcases your enthusiasm for process improvement; previous involvement in implementing new replenishment tools or KPI reporting enhancements is beneficial.
