SSIS Developer & Data Quality Engineer

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview

We are seeking an SSIS Developer & Data Quality Engineer to design, develop, test, and support enterprise‑grade data integration and application solutions. The role requires strong hands‑on expertise in SSIS, SQL, data validation, and automated testing, working closely with business and technical stakeholders in Agile and Waterfall environments.

This role combines development, testing, and production support, ensuring data accuracy, system stability, performance, and security across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities – Development

• Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for investigation and troubleshooting
• Perform root‑cause analysis on application and data issues across environments
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and QA engineers on user stories, acceptance criteria, and defect fixes
• Convert business requirements and acceptance criteria into unit and automated test cases
• Provide effort estimation and technical input during sprint planning
• Support CI/CD activities including build, deployment, and release automation
• Participate in application deployment across DEV, SIT, UAT, and PROD
• Provide production support and participate in after‑office‑hours support rotation
• Promote Agile engineering practices such as TDD, refactoring, and continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities – Testing & Quality Engineering

• Review functional and technical requirements to ensure they are clear, testable, and unambiguous
• Define testing scope, strategy, and estimates in collaboration with stakeholders
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data
• Execute system integration testing (SIT) and validate data exchanged with external systems
• Perform manual, exploratory, regression, and browser testing
• Design and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts where applicable
• Conduct performance, load, and security testing, validating expected outcomes
• Perform impact analysis of defect fixes and verify compliance with acceptance criteria
• Raise, track, and validate defects through to closure
• Demonstrate tested features during Sprint Reviews and production showcases

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands‑on experience in SSIS development
• Solid expertise in SQL Server / SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting
• Experience in ETL, data integration, and data validation
• Good understanding of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, functional)
• Knowledge of TDD / BDD principles
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, build and deployment automation
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across application, data, and system layers
• Experience supporting production systems with high availability and security requirements

Nice to Have / Added Advantage

• Experience with MSBuild, Maven, Docker, or similar build tools
• Exposure to cloud or hybrid environments
• Experience delivering systems with high performance, availability, and security
• Relevant software development or software testing certifications
• ICT Assessment Certification (Software Developer) from NUS-ISS is preferred
