We are looking for a Software Engineer (Backend) to join our client’s team to maintain backend services and APIs that power our internal and customer-facing applications.

About the Roles

• Contract Duration: 1-year contract (Renewable)
• Annual Leave: 18–21 days (encashable)
• Medical Coverage: Outpatient GP and dental benefits
• Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days on-site, 2 days WFH
• Working Hours:
  • Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 6:00pm
  • Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm

Our client designs and develops software applications that help government agencies better serve the needs of Singaporeans. They adopt an Agile development approach and continuously work towards applying modern engineering best practices and cutting‑edge tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Collaborate with frontend engineers using Angular to deliver seamless, user‑centric applications
• Build, deploy and maintain scalable solutions on AWS, ensuring reliability, security and performance
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing and deployment
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑tested code following best engineering practices
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives
• Work closely with product owners, designers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Perform code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application and production issues

Requirements

• Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
• At least 4 years of working experience in backend software development
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Working knowledge of Angular and frontend‑backend integration
• Experience deploying and supporting applications on AWS
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and relational databases
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
