Site Supervisor (Civil Engineering)

Primary role:

Construction supervisors oversee the construction of projects and monitor activities at worksites. Manage general workers, ensure health and safety codes are observed, and that work is completed to schedule. Also liaise with subcontractors, vendors and performing other administrative tasks. Responsible to lead, manage, train and mentor the General workers, prioritize and delegate responsibilities, and interact with the Supervisors, Engineers, and Project Manager to ensure the construction jobs are completed efficiently, accurately and on-time.

Job description and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines.
  • Maintains project administration in a current and timely manner
  • Monitoring construction processes and providing training and team building sessions are required.
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Orders materials and equipment and takes care of the permits, performing equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
  • Meets construction budget by monitoring project expenditures
  • Accomplishes construction project results by defining project purpose and scope
  • Prevents fines and work interruptions by complying with and enforcing codes
  • Scheduling regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, and staff.
  • Writing up reports, budgets, project plans, and presenting them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Working closely with architects and other professionals.
  • Staying up to date with safety codes and advancements in construction.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following guidelines, standards, and procedures
  • Processing paperwork and traveling to multiple sites as required.
