Ship Manager

Salling Search is recruiting a Ship Manager for a shipping company based in Singapore.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and operate vessels safely in compliance with IMS procedures and national/international regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors on quality, environmental, and safety performance.
  • Control vessel expenditure, prepare budgets, and advise clients on overspending.
  • Procure and maintain adequate spares and equipment to ensure continuous operation.
  • Consult Head of Fleet on deviations from IMS or regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor maintenance systems, implement cost-saving measures, and address machinery issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular inspections, maintain dry dock schedules, and oversee docking procedures.
  • Evaluate and appraise shipboard personnel on safety, health, environmental, and service performance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including Class, Oil Majors, shipowners, and suppliers, for effective vessel operations.
  • Support insurance claims by coordinating with underwriters and providing technical documentation.
  • Implement preventive measures to avoid machinery breakdowns and ensure compliance with SOL
