Job description

Our Global Customer Support team is seeking a Service Engineer to support our regional and worldwide customers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with both navigation and propulsion control systems. This role involves providing remote guidance and product support to our customers, as well as being part of a knowledge pool that offers back‑end support to our field service team.

What you will be doing

Focus on customer support, commissioning, and service for the assigned Kongsberg Maritime Navigation K-Bridge/K-Nav product range, covering service activities in South‑East Asia and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.

Perform workshop tests and technical preparations, ensuring proper preparation, execution, and meeting performance standards at all times.

Generate service reports update drawings, maintain the cable information database, and manage other relevant documentation.

Provide remote guidance and product support to customers, as well as backend support to the service team.

Assist the sales department with technical issues and handle pre‑ and post‑work administrative tasks.

Undertake ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

We think you should have
  • Min. Diploma or Degree in Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience on ship Navigation system
  • Relevant working experience in maritime industry is preferred
  • Must have excellent co‑operative skills, good communication skills, result‑oriented and self‑motivated
  • Meticulous & methodical approach to remote case handling.
  • Self‑driven attitude to find solutions to problems.
  • Service minded with passion and patience for handling customers
  • On‑board system process knowledge, experience with Bridge systems
  • Ability to work independently
  • Travel overseas on short notice
  • Having experience on Automation/Steering system is an advantage.
