Key Accountabilities
- Define and deliver financial crime program initiatives and achieve business outcomes across multiple Compliance domain areas as per established timeline
- Develop business cases and manage program financials within approved budget
- Work with stakeholders to understand and develop business requirements and lead the end-to-end implementation of solutions
- Prioritize program backlogs/requests by balancing regulatory, audit and business priorities, squad capacity, to ensure all committed timelines will be met
- Identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues arising from program execution using agile way of working
- Effectively collaborate with cross-functional, cross-geography stakeholders, including regulators/auditors, and accurately communicate program progress and challenges
Responsibilities
- Manage program and product roadmap, business case, and user requirements across multiple solutions and domain areas, including but not limited to, surveillance, analytics and regulatory reporting
- Collaborate with business users to define user journeys and associated business processes
- Conduct gap analysis between business requirements (including regulatory expectations) vis-a-vis solution landscape and platform strategy
- Document detailed business requirements/epics/user stories by liaising with business users/business analysts including the acceptance criteria
- Define program roadmap and prioritize program backlogs/requests by balancing regulatory, audit and business priorities, and squad capacity to ensure all committed timelines will be met
- Evaluate solutions proposed by technology or analytics team/vendors for specific epics /user stories to ensure best practices are followed
- Build business case and project recommendations as appropriate, to draw down the budget and set up financial tracking
- Conduct market research and analyse trends including RFP/setting up proof of concepts to ensure the product vision/roadmap is aligned with industry developments and the bank’s future needs
- Manage key stakeholders, including regulators/auditors, and business and technology leads
- Manage and communicate effectively with domain leads at senior level and working level teams in a timely and clear manner
- Responsible for ensuring project steering committee meetings, platform governance, cross functional, and other periodic project meetings are effective and achieve objectives in a consistent manner
- Drive program execution and delivery
- Monitor and ensure that program/project execute flawlessly, on schedule, and without compromising quality
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks within the program
- Resolve issues and conflicts within the program, projects and project management community and with other stakeholders, if necessary
- Ensure resolution of issues at program or line level and elevate issues which cannot be resolved in a timely and accurate manner
- Have oversight of major production issues or remediation or resolution of data gaps within the scope of program
- Manage coordination across teams and other platforms by keeping transparency in the A/B /C type of work so that delivery can effectively be managed, including critical areas:
- Ensure project dependencies on other projects /platforms are on their roadmaps and resources will be available when your teams need them
- Ensure work other teams need from your team/s are included and prioritised appropriately in your teams work backlog
- Highlight capability gaps to respective team/tribe/ function leads
- Oversee User Acceptance Tests and Implementation
- Manage user acceptance tests, including execution of test cases as necessary, develop rollout plan and oversee implementation/live-verification activities
- Conduct end user training where necessary
- Ensure smooth rollout of projects, complete pre and post-implementation activities in close coordination with scrum master
- Work closely with Technology/Operations/Business teams to resolve any implementation issues and any post-implementation stabilisation work
- Change management
- Adopt agile methodology across squads in the program and implement any DBS Platform Transformation milestones
- Ensure utilization of standards and practices across all projects
- Work with business and support unit users to drive changes to facilitate successful implementation and faster realization of benefits
Requirements
Non-technical Experience
- Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills and can be relied upon to make prompt, data-driven and reliable decisions.
- Ability to multi-task with good analytical and planning skills to effectively manage changing and conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrate strong ownership of program/projects and assigned tasks with solid solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to interface on a professional level with a variety of personalities at different levels and across geographies, leveraging solid relationship-building, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with positive and can-do attitude, with the fortitude to be comfortable in ambiguous and complex situations.
Technical Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ working experience with proven track record of managing projects to meet stipulated timelines with expected outcomes and quality. Work in transformation programs and/or data analysis would be an asset.
- Solid experience in project management, especially in the application of Agile methodology.
- Strong background in business analysis and/or root cause analysis, ideally in the Financial Services industry.
- Working knowledge of Financial Crime domain and associated business processes, including related applications is an advantage.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Productivity Suite, and project management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Octane).
- Project Management (Agile) and/or Business Analyst certification is preferable.
