A leading insurance provider is looking for an Underwriter to join their Singapore Digital Commercial Insurance team. This role includes conducting underwriting for SME business packages, maintaining profitable renewal accounts, and collaborating with IT to ensure operational efficiency of digital platforms. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree along with at least 2 years of underwriting experience, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities. You will conduct day to day underwriting and related administrative tasks as part of the Singapore Digital Commercial Insurance (DCI) Underwriting Team. You will be focusing on SME business package across all of Chubb’s distribution channels, including broker facilities. This is a critical role, as you apply your knowledge and skills to contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the DCI team and P&C department’s overall business goals.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Responsible for underwriting of insurance products and progressing the portfolio of the SME Business Package
Drive new business, review new risk submission and renewals within assigned authority limits.
Maintains close rapport and relationship with all distribution channels, maintains liaison to obtain necessary underwriting information, promote satisfactory service relationship and to encourage the submission of targeted business.
Working closely with the IT team on ensuring all front facing digital platforms are operationally running.
To review, propose & strategize as a DCI team on new P&C digital initiatives.
Assist in performing peer review audits when necessary.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, Business Degree, relevant Insurance qualifications or equivalent
Demonstrated underwriting ability and technical competence as evidenced by a minimum of 2 years’ underwriting experience or equivalent industry experience.
Analytical skills and ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within designated authority.
Effective communication & interpersonal skills to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
