Overview

The Senior System Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and operational oversight for enterprise server and infrastructure environments.

This role involves maintaining system stability, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting service operations, and collaborating with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients to deliver reliable and secure IT services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the maintenance, patching, monitoring, and overall upkeep of server systems, including Microsoft, Nutanix, and Citrix platforms.
• Assist in managing compliance-related activities to ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and internal governance requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system and infrastructure issues, minimizing service disruption and downtime.
• Support day-to-day service requests and change management activities, ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality delivery.
• Manage IT equipment inventory, including asset tracking, lifecycle management, condemnation, and disposal processes in accordance with company policies.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients on system deployments, infrastructure refreshes, upgrades, and other technical initiatives.
• Participate in system implementation, operational support, and sustainment (O&S) activities across supported platforms.
• Provide technical input for system design, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Technical Skills and Knowledge Strong technical foundation in systems engineering, computer systems, and IT infrastructure; experience in communications technologies is an advantage.
• Good working knowledge of system lifecycle management and systems engineering on Windows Server platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft System Center suite of products.
• Hands-on experience with the following technologies is required or strongly preferred: Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV), Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux, Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
• BeyondTrust Privileged Identity/Access Management (PIM/PAM), RSA Security Appliance, Splunk, SolarWinds, Tenable Vulnerability Management System (VMS), Veeam Backup & Replication, Ansible Automation Platform Experience
• At least 1–3 years of experience in the Information Technology industry, with exposure to Microsoft, Nutanix, and/or Citrix system implementation, project management, and operations & support (O&S).
• Experience performing project management tasks, handling technical challenges, and working with users and vendors to define business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
