Job summary

A leading IT solutions firm in Singapore is looking for an experienced software professional to develop Java-based solutions, manage incidents, and provide application support for capital markets systems. Job description
Software Build and Development:
  • Develop Java-based solutions for the Calypso v14.4 platform.
  • Design and build custom internal software components to support business operations.
Incident, Request, and Change Management:
  • Manage incidents and service requests from business users and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution.
  • Analyze enhancement requests and bug reports, implementing effective solutions and documenting all deliverables.
  • Execute monthly release cycles, adhering to established timelines for analysis, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Support the application release roadmap, ensuring production stability and operational readiness.
Application Support and Operations:
  • Provide (Level 3) application support, troubleshooting complex technical issues and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Lead operational improvements by identifying bottlenecks and refining support processes.
Continuous Improvement and Mentorship:
  • Advocate for and implement process improvements to optimize software development and support workflows.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, promoting skill development and best practices within the team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in application support and system operations within the capital markets sector.
  • Proven experience supporting capital market applications and trading systems, ideally within Market Risk or Front Office environments, with a strong understanding of financial products such as Treasury, FX, Credit, Interest Rate Derivatives, Bonds, and RSF.
  • Deep expertise in Calypso Back Office functionalities, with hands‑on experience in customizing various Calypso modules, including:
    • Custom Remote Services
    • Engines
    • Events
    • Filters
    • Reporting Framework
    • Scheduled Tasks
    • Messaging (SWIFT and others)
    • Transfers
    • Settlement Delivery Instructions
    • Accounting
    • Pricers
    • Workflows
    • Reconciliation processes
  • Solid understanding of Confirmations, Settlement, Position Management, and Accounting modules.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial assets (FX, Treasury products, Repos, Bonds, SLB, Issuances) and the full trade lifecycle.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting requirements such as HRF, NORIA, and MMSR.
Nice to Have:
  • Knowledge of Domain‑Driven Design and Microservices architecture using Spring Boot.
  • Exposure to Capital Markets application environments.
  • Hands‑on experience in implementation and deployment projects.
