Job summary

A leading tobacco distribution company in Singapore is seeking a sales manager to achieve sales targets and maximize product volume through effective wholesaler management. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and at least 5 years of experience in the tobacco industry, demonstrating strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, along with a detail-oriented approach to planning and execution.

Responsibilities and Duties
SALES & WHOLESALER MANAGEMENT
  • Responsible for achieving agreed sales targets (Shipment & In-Market-Sales) of the assigned wholesalers and maximizing PTC volume in all business aspects including availability, visibility, sales and other commercial indicators.

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of the assigned wholesaler organization, processes, total outlet coverage to improve distribution of total PTC products.

  • Ensure optimum stock level of PTC products in assigned wholesaler to prevent any business disruption.

  • Support Supervisor to identify & recruit potential Wholesaler to drive new business opportunity and in the event of wholesaler substitution to ensure smooth business continuation.

  • Manage wholesaler pricing of PTC products at all trade levels.

TRADE ACTIVATION
  • Ensure effectiveness & efficiency of planned trade program deployment of assigned wholesalers, including proper process roll out and outlet audit.

  • Manage reconciliation of deployed trade program results, supporting documents and reimbursement payments to Wholesalers.

  • Develop & implement strategic and tactical action plans to achieve / drive volume growth of assigned wholesaler/area.

MARKET INTELLIGENCE & REPORTING
  • Monitor competitive pricing at all trade levels and produce weekly price point report.

  • Collect and produce weekly market insights report on competitor activities.

Requirements
  • Bachelors’ Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, or any other related field

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in a sales function within the tobacco industry, preferably experienced in distribution/wholesale management.

  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and negotiation techniques in managing customer

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & Powerpoint required.

  • Must be detail-oriented in planning and execution.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to deliver results under time pressure.
