A leading robotics firm in Singapore is seeking a highly skilled individual for a 3-years renewable contract role to design and implement trajectory and motion planning algorithms for robotic manipulators. This position requires a PhD in a related field and extensive experience in manipulator navigation. Job description

This will be a 3-years renewable contract position based in Jurong West.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement advanced trajectory and motion planning algorithms to optimize manipulator movements and achieve collision-free motion in various applications.
  • Apply deep technical expertise in kinematics and control to improve motion accuracy, flexibility, and task efficiency for robotic manipulators.
  • Integrate machine learning techniques to enhance robot control and decision-making processes.
  • Apply computer vision and image processing techniques to improve robot perception and object recognition capabilities.
  • Research and implement state-of-the-art algorithms and methodologies to improve robot performance and efficiency.
  • Project planning, proposal writing and technical reviews, ensuring successful translation of research outcomes into deployable systems.
  • Gather requirements from internal and external stakeholders (research collaborators, industry partners and end-users)
  • Provide technical updates
  • Ensure proposed solutions meet technical and business objectives.
  • Engage cross-functional teams (hardware engineers, software developers, and researchers).
  • Be a mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and researchers.
Requirements
  • PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in manipulator trajectory planning and mobile robot navigation.
  • Able to lead technical teams or project workstreams, drive execution and maintain technical excellence.
  • Experience in open-source machine learning techniques, with knowledge of deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and/or PyTorch for building and training neural networks.
  • Proficient in Python, C++, or Matlab.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator with colleagues and present technical findings.
  • Passion for robotics and a desire to stay updated with the latest developments in the field.
  • Committed to solving technical challenges in the field of robotics.
  • Able to approaching obstacles with a positive and determined mindset.
