Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Senior QS / Quantity Surveyor to lead a team in managing project budgets and ensuring contractual obligations are met. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or related fields and a minimum of 8 years of experience within the construction industry. Strong communication and analytical skills, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the construction industry, particularly with main contractors.
  • Able to commence work with short notice.

Senior QS / Quantity Surveyor (mixed use development)
  • Leading a team of QS to support day to day site operation.
  • Managing the project budget.
  • Identifying variation order and ensure V.Os are submitted on timely basis.
  • Preparation and submission of main contract progress claim and coordination with site team in order to achieve monthly cash flow target.
  • Evaluation of subcontractors' payment and providing strategies for the control of the subcontractors' variation order.
  • Procurement of Subcontract awards.
  • Reviewing of Subcontracts and negotiate commercial terms and conditions with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Preparation of Final Accounts.
  • Attending site progress meeting, technical meeting etc.
Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of the construction industry, particularly with main contractors.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related working experience in construction industry.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Process good analytical skills, and able to work in a dynamic and fast pace environment to meet critical deadline.
  • Able to commence work with short notice.
