Job summary

A leading manpower solutions company in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage cost and contract duties for timber door and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and strong communication skills, alongside experience in managing budgets and performing detailed quantity take-offs. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Cost Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in timber doors or interior renovation is an advantage.
  • Competence in reading drawings and performing accurate measurements.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Manage full spectrum of cost and contract duties for timber door, interior fit-out and construction projects — including budgeting, estimation, tender pricing and final settlement.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs based on shop drawings and site conditions (including timber doors, ironmongery, wall/ceiling/ flooring finishes, cabinetry, and related works).
  • Prepare and submit progress claims, variation orders and final accounts; verify measurements and amounts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Review quotations, cost breakdowns and contract terms to ensure compliance with project requirements and approved budgets.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress, capture variations, and track material usage for accurate cost control.
  • Prepare and update cost reports, project tracking sheets and construction schedules; assist in delay / extension of time documentation when necessary.
  • Maintain close communication with project managers, designers, site team and suppliers to ensure alignment of quantities, budgets and payment milestones.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Cost Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in timber doors, interior renovation or construction projects will be an advantage.
  • Good competency in reading drawings (plan, elevation and detail drawings) and performing accurate quantity measurements.
  • Meticulous, reliable and proactive — able to handle cost and contract matters independently.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal teams effectively.
  • Able to meet deadlines and deliver quality work in a fast-paced project environment.
