About the Role

You will drive the end-to-end technical execution and successful commissioning of multiple concurrent, high-impact engineering projects across diverse customer environments in the APAC region. While you do not directly manage the Project Engineering team, you are accountable for project-level delivery, including resource coordination, risk mitigation, and resolution of critical implementation challenges. You will lead, mentor, and serve as the direct reporting line for a team of Project Managers and Project Directors, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for a technically deep, customer‑focused leader who thrives in complex, fast‑paced environments and can bridge the gap between strategy, execution, and stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • People Leadership & Development: Directly manage, coach, and provide performance feedback to Project Managers and Project Directors, fostering leadership growth and accountability.
  • End-to-End Project Oversight: Ensure consistent delivery quality across concurrent projects by monitoring progress, risks, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Pre-Sales, Engineering, Vendors, and internal stakeholders to define scope, gather requirements, and align implementation strategies.
  • Technical Governance: Champion the creation and review of high-fidelity deliverables, including low-level designs, UAT test plans, and network architecture diagrams.
  • Escalation & Problem Solving: Serve as the escalation point for critical technical and operational roadblocks; coordinate vendor and engineering teams to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Lead technical discussions with key clients and partners to build trust, manage expectations, and secure project buy‑in.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute insights from field execution to refine project methodologies, tools, and best practices across the delivery organisation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Technical Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline from a reputable university.
  • 10+ years in telecommunications or related technology sectors—with hands‑on exposure to IP telephony, IMS, data networking, cybersecurity, and/or big data analytics across APAC.
  • Demonstrated depth in core technologies: Linux OS, virtualisation (e.g., VMware, KVM), databases (SQL/NoSQL), and IP networking (routing/switching, firewalls, SD-WAN).
  • Prior experience leading senior project leaders (PMs/PDs) in complex, multi‑stakeholder deployments.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, ITIL) are a strong plus.
