About our group:

The Production Operations organization at Seagate Singapore (W1) is responsible for delivering safe, high‑quality, and cost‑efficient backend HDD manufacturing output. The team oversees 24/7 factory operations, workforce planning, operational excellence, production control, cross‑functional coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to support Seagate’s global supply chain and customer commitments.

About the role - you will:
  • Lead end‑to‑end production operations across multiple manufacturing modules, ensuring stable output, quality, and on‑time delivery.
  • Drive factory KPIs including throughput, cycle time, yield, labor efficiency, WIP health, and operational cost.
  • Oversee shift operations, daily performance management, escalation handling, and cross‑functional issue resolution.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, IE, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to improve equipment uptime, reduce defects, and optimize workflow.
  • Lead workforce strategy: staffing plans, operator competency development, training matrices, and certification standards.
  • Implement Lean/6S/Kaizen practices to enhance productivity, workplace organization, and safety.
  • Support NPI builds, customer audits, and volume‑ramp readiness.
  • Champion safety culture—drive adherence to EHS standards, incident prevention, and safe work practices.
  • Develop frontline leaders (shift supervisors, line leads) through coaching, performance feedback, and career development.
  • Manage operational budgets, manpower forecasts, and cost‑reduction programs.
About you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Strong leader with proven ability to manage large operational teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communicator who can influence across levels and functions.
  • Data‑driven mindset with strong analytical and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Highly disciplined, organized, and focused on execution excellence.
  • Passionate about people development, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Open to travel to Thailand for 1 month for on‑job‑training.
Your experience includes:
  • 10+ years of experience in high‑volume manufacturing, with at least 5 years in operations leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in driving productivity, quality improvement, and cost‑efficiency.
  • Experience managing large teams (50–300+ staff) in shift or 24/7 operations.
  • Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing, SPC, 6S, and operational excellence frameworks.
  • Experience in HDD, semiconductor, electronics, or precision‑manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to automation, MES systems, digital operations, or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Background in ramp management, NPI builds, or customer‑facing operations.
